Dr. J. K. Yates, emeritus professor, former endowed distinguished professor and dean; author of numerous books and articles; Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees in civil engineering with five minors-University of Washington and Texas A&M University. Dr. Yates worked for domestic and global engineering and construction firms, and received the Distinguished Professor award from the Construction Industry Institute and New York University and the Outstanding Educator in America in Construction award from the Associated General Contractors.
